So the Mets had a contest on their website where fans could vote on a song for the 8th inning sing-along at Shea Stadium. All the songs were old pop hits from the '80s and '90s, but there was a spot where you could write in your choice of a song not listed. So many people wrote in "Never Gonna Give You Up" that it ended up winning.
