ITT we discuss Cracker Barrel

So, courtesy of Door Dash...

I tried the meatloaf solely because of Dave's post. Also pictured are the dumplins, mac and cheese, a biscuit, and the baked potato. Never had their meatloaf before. It was really good, but think I would opt for the fried chicken over that next time.

Patrick is doing the LORD'S WORK. That's a damn fine meal. The only way you could make that meal any better is if you ditched the baked potato for the GOAT side item hashbrown casserole.
 
For a chain restaurant, their fried shrimp is really fucking good. When me and Lauren lived over in powdersville, I did some big time damage to the barrel.
 
I've tried that hashbrown casserole the first time I went, but it didn't blow me away. Might be worth another attempt. I'm going to continue to blaze a trail on their menu and try new things, will keep posting any new entrees I attempt. Any other suggestions?
 
Fried steak with the saw mill gravy is a staple. But it has to be with the gravy. Chicken and dumplins' is always great. Those two and the meat loaf are usually one of the three I'll go with.

As far as breakfast, the entire menu is amazing. Their standard pancakes aren't anything special, but their blueberry pancakes SLAP. Honestly, I would be fine with making a meal out of just their biscuits and gravy.
 
Milkshakes aren't on the menu, but they will make one. They are da bomb.
 
Alright, took the opportunity to give it another go. This time the country fried steak, mac and cheese, dumplings, green beans, and biscuits. Country fried steak was a good choice! I like it anyway, but the Barrel did a good job.

NOBODY TOLD ME ABOUT THE BEST THING ON THE MENU, OH LAWD


This is the "chicken fried chicken" and definitely my favorite thing on the menu as of now.
